Finally, after weeks of cancellations due to bad weather, our Year 5/6 Boys’ Football team played their long-awaited first game of the season on Wednesday. Debuting our brand-new kit (huge thanks once again to our sponsors Hesketh Press), the boys turned their frustration of postponed matches into a magnificent performance, showing great teamwork and attitudes throughout. It was a commanding start with excellent, flowing football on show. 4-0 in front at half time thanks to a goal from Leo, two from Junior and an own goal, they defended brilliantly as a team in the second half to withstand Chaucer’s pressure, scoring two extra goals, courtesy of Roni and Jamie, to regain a comfortable lead. A couple of fantastic late saves by Jacob made sure of the three thoroughly-deserved points. Well done boys, I am incredibly proud of each of you for your fight, togetherness and sportsmanship… a superb performance!
Final Score: Larkholme 6-3 Chaucer   Mr Ronson
Next Fixture: Weds 11th October vs Royles Brook @ Poolfoot Farm.
