At Larkholme Primary School we are committed to supporting children and families in all areas of their lives. The pastoral team is Mrs R Sims (Deputy Head), Mrs N Mellow (Family Learning Mentor) and Mrs Zak (Play Therapy Apprentice). The pastoral team is here to support parents and children by providing a confidential and supportive service which may include advice, information, group sessions, 1:1 sessions, events and courses. If you are a parent or carer of a child that attends Larkholme then the pastoral team are here for you. Starlight Room
At Larkholme, we know that sometimes children need time to time and space to regulate. We have created a sensory space called the Starlight Room for this purpose. As required, children will have scheduled time in the Starlight Room to support them with the strategies they need and to give them a calm space. There may be times we invite parents in to join their child in the sensory room in order to share useful strategies.
Rainbow Room
We have renovated another of our rooms to create the Rainbow Room. This is a carefully designed space for Play Therapy. Play Therapy is a type of therapy where children use play and art materials to express themselves.
Mrs Zak is currently undertaking Play Therapy training and has begun to work with families across the school.
Sunshine Room
Children come to our Sunshine Room for nurture groups and activities. At a lunchtime Mrs Mellow or Mrs Zak are in the Sunshine Room, so children can drop in.

How We Support Our Families.
We hold monthly well being clinics with our link worker from Children Family Well Being Service- Carly Goldsmith. If you have any worries please let us know and we can arrange an appointment.
